Job description

The Role

Our client is one of the world's foremost refrigeration solutions providers.

As an industrial refrigeration engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, service, repair, and technical troubleshooting, involving the diagnosis of electrical and mechanical system problems on large commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.

Main Responsibilities

  • Service, maintenance, repair, and commissioning of refrigerating, air conditioning, and process plant.
  • Liaise with customers to ensure work is being carried out to their satisfaction and to identify future potential business opportunities.
  • Carry out on-site electrical and mechanical diagnostic checks.
  • Supervise service engineers and apprentices on-site as necessary.
  • Conduct on-site apprentice training.
  • Ensure that the company's technical and safety standards are maintained in accordance with Health & Safety practices outlined in the company's procedures, and recommend improvements as necessary.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Service Engineer, including installation and mechanical/electrical setup of commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Working knowledge of environmental, health & safety regulations, and relevant EC directives (pressure equipment directive, machinery safety directive, ATEX directive, low voltage directive, and EMC directive).
  • Experience servicing piston, screw, and centrifugal compressors.
  • Experience with HCFC, HFC, and NH3 refrigerants (experience with HC refrigerants and CO2 is an advantage).
  • Able to diagnose faults, including system design issues.
  • Working knowledge of PC and PLC-based controls and instrumentation.
  • C&G F-Gas 2079 and Safe Handling of Ammonia Certification.
