We re looking for a skilled Mobile Refrigeration Engineer to join our client s team, providing expert support to industrial facilities across the South Coast. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with a solid background in industrial refrigeration systems, particularly those involving Ammonia.
Important: You must hold a valid UK driving licence to be considered for this position.
Refrigeration Engineer Duties:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and service visits at industrial sites such as food production plants, warehouses, and distribution centres.
- Work with a variety of refrigeration systems, including Reciprocating, Scroll, and Screw compressors, using refrigerants like Ammonia, CO2, and HFC/HFO.
- Respond to breakdowns during normal hours and take part in an out–of–hours on–call rota.
- Work closely with both internal teams and client representatives to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
- Follow company procedures and industry regulations, ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and with commercial awareness.
- Take full responsibility for the quality, safety, and successful completion of all tasks.
Refrigeration Engineer Requirements:- Proven experience in industrial refrigeration with a deep understanding of client needs in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Relevant certifications including 2079 Refrigerant Handling, ACRIB, and Ammonia–related qualifications.
- Completion of a recognised apprenticeship or formal training programme in refrigeration engineering.
- Confident in diagnosing and repairing faults on complex, large–scale plant systems.
- Hands–on experience with compressor types including Grasso, Sabroe, J&E Hall, GEA, and Mycom.
Salary and Package:
- GBP45,000 – GBP50,000 basic salary
- Monday to Friday, 8:00am 5:00pm working hours
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Overtime paid at 1.5x on weekdays, 2x on weekends
