Qualifications

Job description

Job title: Industrial Radiographer (Welds)

Location: Weapon Systems UK Business Unit - Sheffield - Onsite only

Salary: £39,873+ (depending on skills and experience)

What you'll be doing:

  • Responsible for conducting Radiography of welds
  • Responsible for interpreting radiographs and identifying defects
  • Report results of inspections using the agreed processes and record non-conformance
  • Undertake non-routine/complex activities in their related area with minimal supervision
  • Able to access, have a clear understanding of and apply the local Management System documentation e.g. policies, procedures, workmanship standards, risk assessments and COSHH assessments and processes and apply in their related area
  • Responsible for supporting the Quality Management team in addressing planned tasks
  • Responsible for conducting the verification of non-conformances
  • Liaise/interface with appropriate areas of the business and build effective relationships
  • The ability to write reports and presentations and support others, ensuring accuracy and clarity of meaning
  • Represent the department at local Quality reviews and liaise with the internal customer when required

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • NC or HNC qualified in an appropriate technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of PCN Level 2 Radiography (RT - Radiographic Testing) in Welds
  • Minimum of RPS PCN qualification/advanced Radiation Safety Certification
  • Fully understand and competent with IRR 2017
  • The ability to read and interpret weld defects through radiographic and other NDT techniques
  • The ability to write radiographic techniques

Desirable:

  • PCN Level 2 in Dye Penetrant Inspection (PT)
  • CSWIP 3.1 or PCN level 2 in Welding Inspection (WI)
  • Trade background - time served in trade discipline
