How this role fits in

Join one of our multi-disciplinary integrated project teams (IPT) in Edinburgh and contribute to solving real-life engineering problems involving state-of-the-art avionics sensor systems, such as radar systems for fighter jets like Typhoon and SAAB Gripen, Surveillance AESA Radars, Infra-Red Counter Measures (IRCM), and laser targeting or ranging systems.

You will report to an experienced engineer providing guidance and on-the-job training. You will be introduced to software development processes and utilize advanced methods, technology, and tools. You will gain experience across various aspects of the software development lifecycle, including research, requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and testing.

Key Responsibility Areas

• Learn and develop skills in software development, including design techniques for aerospace applications, understanding key processes and technologies, and using state-of-the-art modelling tools, compilers, and test environments.
• Create high-quality, robust code, document work products, manage configurations, and report progress to supervisors.
• Deliver technical reports and presentations, with support to meet academic standards.
• Collaborate with Software, Systems, Firmware, and Electronics Engineers to solve integration problems on complex systems.
