HR Wallingford in Wallingford, UK offers a one-year industrial placement with the Maritime & Ships group at Howbery Park, starting July 2027. The role is ideal for undergraduates with a sandwich year in industry.

You will work with specialist engineers and scientists in the Ship Simulation Centre and physical modelling hall, tackling port-design studies, mooring assessments and data analysis for clients.

Qualifications

• Studying towards a civil or coastal engineering degree, ship science, or a numerate science.
• Strong numeracy and organisational skills.
• Familiarity with spreadsheets and word processing is essential.

Responsabilités

• Operating the ship simulator as part of the simulation team running studies for port design and safe navigation.
• Working on mooring assessments using dynamic mooring analysis tools.
• Data processing and analysing results to present to clients.
