Job description

As an Industrial Placement Building Services Engineer you'll be working within the Construction team you will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and management of essential building systems, including mechanical, electrical systems.

What will your day-to-day duties include?
  • Assisting in the design, development, and coordination of building services systems.
  • Conducting site visits and surveys to gather data, assess project needs, and ensure designs are implemented correctly.
  • Participating in project meetings, design reviews, and site inspections to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Collaborating with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of building services within the overall building design.
  • Assisting in the testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of building services systems.

What are we looking for?

We\'re on the lookout for students undertaking a degree in building services engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, who have the option or requirement to complete a placement year from 2026 - 2027. After your placement, you\'ll be returning to university with a graduation year of 2028.

The role of an Industrial Placement Building Surveyor is great for you if:
  • Strong interest in building services engineering and a passion for sustainable design.
  • Basic understanding of building services systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
