Are you a skilled Painter with a strong background in surface preparation and coating application techniques?

DK Recruitment is currently seeking experienced Industrial/Marine Painters to work on Warships and support ongoing major projects at Devonport Dockyard an excellent opportunity to be part of critical defence and marine preparations based in one of the UK s most iconic naval sites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Surface prep of bare substrates & existing coatings to spec
• Application of coatings via brush, roller, conventional & airless spray
• Read & interpret paint manufacturer s technical and safety data sheets
• Assist & advise team members on best practices
• Apply damage control markings and tally signwriting where required
• Maintain clean, safe workspaces and protect all equipment
• Interpret MOD BRs relevant to painting procedures

What We re Looking For:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in marine, industrial, or commercial painting
• Proficient with airless spraying (essential)
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations
• Experience on submarines/warships (highly desirable)
• Understanding of technical documentation & safety protocols
• Signwriting experience (desirable)
• Willingness to work shifts/overtime when required

Qualifications:

Essential:

• NVQ Level 3 in Industrial/Marine Painting & Decorating (or equivalent)
• ICATS Certification

Desirable:

• NVQ Level 2 with intent to progress to Level 3
• Additional marine coatings or HSE training

Location: Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth
Contract: 12-month initial contract
Hours: 35 hours/week (Mon Thurs: 07 30, Fri: 07 30)
Pay:
Level 2:

• PAYE: GBP17.09/hr
• Umbrella: GBP21.15 hr)
• Travel Allowance (if applicable)

Level 3:

• PAYE: GBP19.45/hr
• Umbrella: GBP24.616/hr
• Travel Allowance (if applicable)

You must be able to obtain and hold BS Clearance and positions open to UK Nationals only.
