Job summary

Travail Employment Group in Corby seeks a Paint Prepper for a temporary role with the potential to become permanent. £14.00 per hour. Monday to Thursday 07:30 - 16:30 and Friday 07:30 - 13:30. The role involves preparing industrial machinery and smaller parts for painting, working alongside the paint sprayer.

You will clean, sand, grind, and smooth surfaces, set up abrasive wheels safely, apply masking, and move parts for prep and paint. Safety and quality are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in paint preparation within industrial coating or similar manufacturing environment.
• Abrasive Wheel Training Certificate required.
• Ability to read work instructions and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and finish surfaces by cleaning, sanding, grinding, and smoothing.
• Set up and inspect abrasive wheels safely.
• Apply masking to unpainted areas.
• Move and organize parts for prep and painting.
• Check surfaces for defects and report issues.
• Maintain equipment with routine checks.
• Follow workplace safety procedures and PPE rules.
• Complete job cards, prep logs, quality checks.
• Coordinate with painters and supervisors to meet deadlines.
