Job summary

Hamton Environmental Services Ltd is seeking a skilled Maintenance Shift Electrician for a Basildon manufacturing site. You will join a team ensuring reliability and safety across legacy and modern automated electrical systems, with a 37.5 hour week and rotating shifts.

This role covers planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding on motors, drives, distribution, and BEMS, plus on-call and overtime paid at 1.5x. A recognised electrical apprenticeship and factory experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Completed an recognised electrical apprenticeship.
• Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of industrial power and control systems.
• Certified to current wiring regulations (17th/18th Edition).
• Ability to work effectively in a shift-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on industrial electrical systems
• Diagnose faults and perform repairs on motors, drives and control panels
• Maintain LV/HV distribution and lighting systems
• Support ageing plant infrastructure improvements
• Ensure compliance with current electrical and safety regulations
• Maintain accurate maintenance records
• Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams
• Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise outages
• Participate in continuous improvement projects
