Qualifications

We’re looking for an Industrial Hygiene Specialist to join the INEOS Acetyls team based in Hull . We need highly motivated individuals who want to be part of our growing business.

The opportunity

We have a vacancy for an Industrial Hygiene Specialist. The role is an essential part of the Ineos Acetyls Environmental & Industrial Hygiene team; which is central to the safe operations of the site.

The post holder will be the subject matter technical expert for Industrial Hygiene and provide expert operational, technical and planning support to INEOS Hull site assets, third parties and other stakeholders.

Key accountabilities

  • Lead the planning and delivery of Industrial Hygiene support to Acetyls Manufacturing and other stakeholders including delivery of agreed third party programmes as required.
  • Maintain awareness of technical and legislative developments in the field of environmental and occupational hygiene science, identifying and responding to those of relevance to INEOS.
  • Lead the development and delivery of Hull Site Health Map environmental and industrial hygiene programme.
  • Provide an environmental and industrial hygiene troubleshooting service as required.
  • Lead, supervise and train Analytical Technicians and manufacturing technicians in the execution of agreed EIH activities.
  • Supervise and train INEOS staff in relevant IH skills.
  • Take a lead in all HSSE issues within the analytical laboratory and contribute to the development of a HSSE culture fully aligned with the goals of the Hull site.
  • Lead the maintenance of the technology for environmental and occupational hygiene capability and skill base within Hull.
  • Be responsible for the development of key EIH techniques to meet the existing and future needs of INEOS and other customers.
  • Create and participate in networks external to Hull to gain knowledge and maintain awareness of EIH developments providing EIH advice as required.

About you

Level of education & experience in general

  • Degree level in relevant science discipline. Relevant MSc or PhD desirable.
  • Certification: Diploma (or equivalent) of Professional Competence in a relevant subject area.
  • Extensive relevant experience in a manufacturing setting is essential.
  • Ability to contribute to the success of the team, fostering learning, sharing of ideas and building capability.
  • Demonstrated ability to think innovatively and provide creative solutions.
  • Ability to prioritise and set clear direction and boundaries.
  • Accreditation as a Member of an appropriate professional body and
  • Active knowledge of the UK Environmental Agency Monitoring Certification Scheme is desirable.
  • A proven record of being able to work successfully in a multi-discipline team environment.
  • Good communication and influencing skills.
  • Results orientation and performance bias.
  • A desire for knowledge management and capturing lessons learned for future improvements.
  • Ability to balance conflicting demands in a continuously developing environment.
