Job summary

Graduate Career Site RYI is seeking an Industrial Engineer to drive continuous improvement across rail mechanical systems, including Platform Train Interface, Wheel-Rail interfaces, LRV dynamics, and tunnel vent systems, throughout their lifecycle.

You will implement asset system strategies, collaborate with operations, mechanical maintenance, development, supply chain, finance and safety teams to optimise cost, risk and performance for best whole-life value.

• Drive continuous improvement across rail mechanical systems lifecycle, including Platform Train Interface, Wheel-Rail/guideway interfaces, Light Rail Vehicle dynamics, mechanical systems and structures, Rail Tunnel Vent Systems, and Rail Depot heavy maintenance equipment.
• Implement and assure effective asset system strategies, standards and plans to optimise cost, risk and performance for whole-life value.

Job description

This role is responsible for driving continuous improvement across our rail Mechanical systems inclusive but not limited to Platform Train Interface; Wheel‑Rail/guideway Interface; Light Rail Vehicle Dynamics, mechanical systems, and structures; Rail Tunnel Vent Systems; and Rail Depot heavy maintenance equipment throughout their entire lifecycle by implementing and assuring effective asset system strategies, standards, and plans. The focus is on optimising cost, risk, and performance to deliver the best whole‑life value. The role works across a range of rail engineering systems and requires strong collaboration with operational, mechanical maintenance, development, supply chain, finance, and safety teams to ensure a joined‑up approach to asset performance.
