Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join the Buckingham manufacturing team. The role focuses on process optimisation, capacity planning and supporting New Product Introduction through to SOP, with a hands-on approach across production, quality and engineering teams.

You will lead time studies, develop standard work, and drive efficiency, quality and safety programs in a fast-paced environment in the automotive lighting sector.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent; HNC/HND acceptable.
  • MTM knowledge and application in work measurement.
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment programming, troubleshooting, and investigations.
  • Experience in manufacturing/production or industrial engineering.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good literacy, numeracy and computer skills.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Effective cross-team communication; independent, hands-on work style.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct time studies and motion analysis to establish standard times.
  • Analyse processes to identify opportunities for efficiency, quality, and cost improvements.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
  • Support ergonomics reviews and workstation improvements.
  • Contribute to NPI activities and Start of Production readiness.
  • Develop and maintain standard work documentation and process controls.
  • Ensure health, safety and 5S compliance.

Job Title: Industrial Engineer

A leading automotive lighting manufacturer supplying luxury and supercar brands is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join its Manufacturing team. This role is responsible for delivering and continuously improving manufacturing products and processes, ensuring they meet both company and customer expectations for quality, efficiency, and performance. Working as part of the Series Manufacturing team, the successful candidate will focus on process optimisation, capacity planning, continuous improvement, and supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities through to Start of Production (SOP). The role requires a hands‑on approach, working closely with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to drive operational excellence and support business growth.

Key Responsibilities – Industrial Engineer
  • Conduct time studies and motion analysis across production operations to establish and validate standard times.
  • Analyse manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities across manufacturing operations.
  • Support ergonomics reviews and workstation improvements to reduce operator risk and improve workplace efficiency.
  • Drive initiatives that support Right First Time performance and overall manufacturing excellence.
Industrial Engineering & Capacity Planning
  • Design and optimise factory layouts to improve workflow, reduce material movement, and eliminate bottlenecks.
  • Analyse production capacity and resource utilisation to identify future manufacturing requirements.
  • Develop solutions to address capacity constraints through efficiency improvements or capital investment.
  • Manage capital equipment justification activities and support implementation projects.
  • Coordinate engineering changes within production processes, including impact assessments and implementation activities.
Documentation & Process Control
  • Develop, maintain, and improve standard work documentation, including work instructions, training records, and cycle time standards.
  • Support process documentation updates following engineering and product changes.
  • Ensure manufacturing documentation accurately reflects current production methods and best practices.
  • Support process audits and continuous improvement reviews.
NPI & Product Launch Support
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) build phases through to Start of Production (SOP).
  • Control and coordinate all phase builds and testing activities alongside NPI Engineers.
  • Participate in hands‑on product builds and provide feedback to improve manufacturing readiness.
  • Develop and support manufacturing processes for new products.
  • Ensure the correct availability of components and materials for phase build activities.
  • Support Quality Engineering teams with defect investigations and root cause analysis activities.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to electrical regulations and manufacturing compliance requirements.
  • Support and maintain high standards of housekeeping through 5S methodologies.
  • Promote a safe, organised, and efficient working environment.
Qualifications & Requirements – Industrial Engineer
  • Degree in Engineering, HNC/HND qualification, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Understanding and practical application of MTM (Methods-Time Measurement).
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment programming, troubleshooting, and investigation.
  • Experience within a manufacturing, production engineering, or industrial engineering environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Good literacy, numeracy, and computer skills.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Methodical and calm approach when working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong team player with a proactive and hands‑on working style.
