Job summary

Cooper Lomaz Recruitment Services Ltd is seeking a qualified Industrial Electrical Engineer to support installation and automation projects across the UK. The role involves installing, maintaining and upgrading electrical systems in large-scale production environments, with travel to sites nationwide.

The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering, 17th Edition and Approved Electrician status, plus hands-on experience with automated production equipment.

Qualifications

• Strong practical knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
• Ability to interpret technical information and work from electrical drawings.
• Familiarity with motors, control circuits, electrical panels and automation equipment.
• Safety-conscious approach and understanding of wiring standards.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage tasks with minimal supervision.
• Clear communication and professional approach when working at customer premises.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the country.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installation work on industrial plant, machinery and infrastructure.
• Install cable containment, route cables and complete electrical terminations.
• Connect motors, variable speed drives, sensors, actuators and other electrical components.
• Assemble, install and connect control panels and electrical enclosures.
• Work from technical drawings, wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
• Assist with equipment start-up, electrical testing, commissioning and fault diagnosis.
• Undertake modifications to existing installations and support equipment upgrade projects.
• Identify electrical faults and implement solutions to minimise downtime.
• Maintain high workmanship standards and comply with electrical legislation and site safety requirements.
• Coordinate with engineering colleagues, site representatives and other contractors to ensure safe, efficient work.
