Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Electrician to join the maintenance and operations team in East London. The role focuses on upkeep, installation, and repair of electrical systems in industrial facilities, ensuring safe and reliable operation.

The ideal candidate will have proven industrial experience, strong knowledge of electrical theory and safety, and the ability to interpret schematics. PLC experience is a plus; a valid driver's license is required.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Electrician to join their essential maintenance and operations team in East London . This role is critical for the upkeep, installation, and repair of electrical systems and equipment within manufacturing and industrial facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all electrical infrastructure, troubleshooting complex issues, and performing preventative maintenance. This hands-on position is ideal for a qualified electrician with a strong background in industrial settings and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and operational reliability in the Eastern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems , wiring, and components in industrial machinery and facilities.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics , blueprints, and technical diagrams to perform installations and repairs.
• Diagnose electrical issues, faults, and malfunctions using testing equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with national and local electrical codes and safety regulations.
• Work with power distribution systems, control panels, motors, and lighting systems.

Requirements

• Certified Industrial Electrician with proven experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical theory , troubleshooting techniques, and safety procedures.
• Proficiency in using a variety of electrical tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to read and understand complex electrical blueprints and schematics.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to work effectively in the East London area.
• Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) is a significant advantage.
