Industrial Electrician

Location : Derby Static
Salary : GBP45-50,000pa / 40 hours / life assurance / enhanced pension / 25 days holiday

Job Overview:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Industrial Electrician to join our team working on a live quarry site. This hands-on role involves the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical systems across heavy plant and industrial machinery to ensure safe and efficient site operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out electrical maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs on quarry machinery, conveyors, crushers, screens, and site infrastructure
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce machinery breakdowns and downtime
  • Install new electrical systems, control panels, and cable runs in compliance with regulations
  • Perform inspections and testing of electrical equipment in line with industry standards
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and site-specific procedures at all times
  • Assist with emergency breakdowns and provide electrical support to the wider site operations team
  • Complete maintenance logs and service reports accurately and timely
  • Liaise with engineers and production staff to coordinate electrical work around operational needs
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Industrial or heavy plant electrical experience essential (quarry, mining, aggregates, or similar)
  • Knowledge of motors, 3-phase systems, control panels, PLCs (basic fault-finding level)
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • CSCS/ECS card (desirable)
  • Experience working in hazardous environments and awareness of quarry safety standards is an advantage
