Job summary

OA Group is seeking an experienced Electrical Assembly & Test Technician in Bedfordshire. You will wire and test complete electrical systems, perform fault-finding, and verify safe operation before software uploads or HMI integration.

The role requires reading schematics, BOMs, and supporting plant installation and improvement projects. Ideal candidates will have a solid background in industrial electrical assembly, knowledge of DOL/VFD configurations, and the ability to work across workshop and

Qualifications

Solid background in machine wiring or industrial electrical assembly.
Skilled in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and wiring documentation.
Practical experience with control devices, drives, sensors, and motors including DOL and VFD configurations.
Confident in identifying and resolving electrical faults during build and testing.
Flexible between workshop build tasks and electrical support work.
Positive attitude, good team-working skills, and workmanship quality.

Responsibilities

Wiring and connecting complete electrical systems across machinery, including sensors, motors, actuators, and interconnects.
Carrying out functional testing, I/O checks, and basic fault-finding prior to commissioning.
Verifying signal paths and validating safe operation before software upload or HMI integration.
Reading and working from electrical schematics, layout drawings, and structured BOMs.
Supporting electrical installation tasks around the factory, including lighting circuits and distribution boards.
Assisting with new machinery installations and electrical improvement projects within production areas.
Collaborating with other departments during machine build, including routing, alignment, and system integration activities.
Maintaining clear and safe working practices while delivering professional-quality builds.
