Job summary

Orbital Industries seeks a Machine Learning Research Engineer to architect cutting-edge AI systems for multi-scale design of physical technologies. You will develop foundation models to simulate atomic motion and macroscopic liquid flow, co-design across scales, and drive production-ready solutions with domain experts.

You will set high technical standards, deliver impactful AI projects across computational chemistry and agentic workflows, and push the frontier of ML research with publications

Qualifications

• Proven software engineering and ML execution experience.
• Experience training, evaluating and productionising AI models at scale.
• Strong fundamentals in algorithms, system design and ML engineering trade-offs.
• Ability to debug complex ML systems with rigorous testing.

Responsibilities

• Set high technical standards for code quality and architecture.
• Design robust systems for production deployment of AI models.
• Drive model selection, training approaches and deployment strategies.
• Deliver AI solutions across the tech development pipeline, incl. simulations and agentic workflows.
• Collaborate with domain experts to scale research into production.
