About the Role:

Academics Ltd is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Individual Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support at a primary school in Cheltenham. This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a child's learning and development within a supportive and inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide personalised 1:1 support to meet the child’s individual learning, social, and emotional needs.
  2. Assist with alternative communication methods such as BSL, Makaton, or other AAC tools to support communication and engagement.
  3. Implement strategies in line with the child’s Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) to promote learning and development.
  4. Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to adapt learning activities and create a supportive classroom environment.
  5. Encourage independence while providing guidance, reassurance, and emotional support.
  6. Monitor progress, document observations, and provide feedback to staff and parents as needed.
  7. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment, adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
