Job summary

Mainstream Primary in Gloucester is seeking an Individual Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs. The role includes collaboration with teachers and the SENCO, implementing EHCP-based strategies, and safeguarding within an inclusive classroom.

The position is full-time, 8:30am–3:30pm, ASAP start, with a salary of £90–£105 per day, enhanced DBS required or willing to apply. Salary aligns with client pay policies and experience.

Qualifications

• Provide tailored 1:1 support to help a child thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
• Assist with communication strategies, including BSL, Makaton, or other AAC methods (Not essential)
• Implement individual learning strategies in line with the child’s Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).
• Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and external professionals to adapt learning activities.
• Encourage independence while offering reassurance and guidance.
• Track progress and share key insights with the wider school team and parents.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment, following safeguarding policies.
