Job summary

Forvis Mazars in the UK is seeking a Senior or Assistant Manager to lead the London Indirect Tax Advisory practice. You will deliver high-quality technical advice to a diverse client base, manage scoping, delivery and billing, and mentor junior staff.

You will develop client relationships, contribute to proposals, and help shape tax strategy within the team. Experience in Indirect Tax advisory, strong communication skills, and a CTA or equivalent are essential; prior business development

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in Indirect Tax advisory work.
• Strong client handling skills and ability to develop good client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop the London Indirect Tax Advisory practice with the London Indirect Tax Director and Partner.
• Deliver high quality technical advice to a diverse client base across sectors.
• Scope, deliver and bill client work; comply with risk management processes.
• Guide junior staff in research and producing work meeting quality standards.
• Provide technical advice on Indirect Tax matters with evidence from legislation and case law.
• Produce technical work for clients in plain English.
• Manage a portfolio of clients as the main indirect tax contact and grow profitable work.
• Develop a portfolio of businesses and generate new indirect tax opportunities.
• Collaborate on proposals for new work and contribute to tax-wide projects.
• Contribute to the indirect tax leadership team with ideas on management and strategy.

About The Role

• To play a key role in developing the London Indirect Tax Advisory practice atForvis Mazars; working closelywith the London Indirect Tax Director and Partner and other members of the team
• Delivering high quality technical advice, working with a diverse range of clients across various sectors.
• To be responsible for the scoping, delivery and billing of client work. You will also be required to be compliant with the firm's risk management processes for clients.
• Ensure that more junior staff are guided in researching and producing work that meets the firm's commitment to quality, whilst also supporting the relevant Indirect Tax Partner and Director.
• Provide technical relevant advice on a range of Indirect Tax matters, supporting your decisions with appropriate knowledge of legislation, case law, and technical analysis. Whilst the role is mostly advisory, it will also encompass the provision of specialist technical support for audits.
• Produce technical work to a high standard which conveys key points to clients and stakeholders in plain English.
• Work alongside the Partner and Director to manage a portfolio of clients as the main point of contact for indirect tax, develop your portfolio to grow your base of profitable work.
• Develop a portfolio of businesses to target, using your business development skills to start new relationships and generate new work for indirect tax and other teams.
• Work with colleagues across the firm to contribute to proposals for new work and provide technical input to tax-wide projects.
• Contribute to the indirect tax leadership team with ideas on management, projects, strategy and focus.
