Our Big 4 client with an expanding and award-winning team is looking for an experienced Indirect Tax Assistant Manager to join their advisory tax department. This role offers varied responsibilities, opportunities for career progression, and excellent exposure to complex tax areas. You will work with a strong team of indirect tax experts supporting each other.

As an Assistant Manager/Manager based in Northern Ireland, working within a team of indirect tax specialists across Ireland, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing top-class tax services to a diverse portfolio of clients
• Corresponding with HMRC and clients regarding tax affairs, including VAT registrations
• Handling indirect tax matters such as VAT reporting, compliance, and risk mitigation
• Managing relationships with HMRC during audits and enquiries, including voluntary disclosures
• Advising on cross-border VAT supplies and the implications of the UK’s exit from the EU
• Performing due diligence on indirect tax positions during acquisitions or sales
• Conducting supply chain reviews and collaborating with colleagues to optimise supply arrangements
• Preparing and delivering seminars to clients and industry groups
• Working within a growing team, supporting department operations
• Contributing to client business growth, proposing new business, and supporting practice development

About You

• Proven commitment to professional and client service excellence
• Strong communication skills and team collaboration abilities
• Ideally CTA or ACA qualified with at least 1 year of indirect tax experience
• Strong commercial awareness
