Our Big 4 client with an expanding and award-winning team is looking for an experienced Indirect Tax Assistant Manager to join their advisory tax department. This role offers varied responsibilities, career progression opportunities, and exposure to complex tax areas. You will work with a team of indirect tax experts who collaborate closely to support each other.

As an Assistant Manager/Manager based in Northern Ireland, working within a team of indirect tax specialists across Ireland, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing top-class tax services to a diverse client portfolio
• Communicating with HMRC and clients regarding tax affairs, including VAT registrations
• Managing all indirect tax matters, ensuring VAT compliance and risk mitigation
• Liaising with HMRC during audits and inquiries, including preparing voluntary disclosures
• Advising on cross-border VAT and the UK’s EU exit impact on supplies to/from Northern Ireland and Great Britain
• Performing due diligence for indirect tax in transactions involving UK entities
• Conducting supply chain reviews and collaborating with Customs and other departments to optimize client supply arrangements
• Preparing and delivering seminars to clients and industry groups
• Working with colleagues to ensure smooth department operations
• Supporting client growth, proposing new business, and contributing to practice development

About You

• Proven commitment to professional and client service excellence
• Strong communication skills and team collaboration ability
• CTA or ACA qualification with at least 1 year of indirect tax experience
• Strong commercial awareness
