McGill University seeks a course lecturer for EDEC 203 782 – Communication in Education, hosted with Gesgapegiag. The instructor will bring expert knowledge of course content and Quebec curriculum, including Indigenous pedagogies, to pre-service teacher candidates.

The appointment runs Nov 16, 2026–Jan 8, 2027, with asynchronous delivery and coordination responsibilities. English-language instruction is required, with an emphasis on equity and inclusion.

Qualificações

• Master’s degree mandatory; exceptional cases considered with relevant experience.
• Expert knowledge of course content as outlined in the course description.
• Knowledge of the Quebec Education program (QEP) and the partnering school board curriculum.
• Familiarity with the 13 Ministère de l’Éducation professional competencies.
• Knowledge of the impact of colonialism on Indigenous communities and equity, diversity and inclusion.
• Experience as a teacher/consultant in the partnering school board for which the course is delivered.
• Experience teaching in the Quebec elementary school system.
• Proven track record teaching similar courses to pre-service teachers.
• Experience developing curriculum grounded in Indigenous knowledge and pedagogies.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver the course content in an asynchronous/online format as agreed with OFNIE.
• Coordinate with McGill and partnering school board to align with course objectives.
• Adapt materials to the community context including Indigenous pedagogies.
• Participate in course coordination and planning activities prior to start date.
