Job description

Victim Support is seeking an Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) to join our Cumberland team. The role is based in our Carlisle office with regular travel across North Cumberland.

About The Role

This role is home-based in North Cumberland with regular travel to meet clients and colleagues, as well as attending meetings.

As an ISVA, you will:

  • Provide a high-quality, proactive service to victims of sexual violence and abuse, including children and young people, supporting those at highest risk and need.
  • Work within a multi-agency framework with the Bridgeway SARC and other local responses to sexual violence.
  • Collaborate with survivors and agencies to monitor care pathways, conduct risk assessments, help clients access their rights, and support other services they require.
Candidate Requirements

The right attitude and willingness to learn are key. Experience working with victims of sexual violence and in multi-agency settings is advantageous, but we are open to candidates demonstrating relevant skills and experience. Extensive experience in caseload management, crisis management, and understanding victims' needs are essential. An accredited ISVA qualification is preferred, but candidates willing to work towards accreditation will also be considered. Good IT skills, knowledge of criminal justice issues, and understanding the impact of court appearances on victims are also necessary.
