Job summary

Jeannine Manuel School in Greater London is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager to oversee regulatory compliance, safeguarding and governance across the school. You will work with the leadership team to implement ISSRs, EYFS, and safeguarding requirements, maintaining robust records and reporting to the Board.

This role suits a methodical, detail‑oriented professional who can translate complex regulations into practical policies and training for staff.

Qualifications

• Experience of compliance, governance and safeguarding within schools.
• Knowledge of regulatory environment for independent schools.
• Familiarity with safer recruitment and safeguarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain oversight of statutory, regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Develop and maintain the school's compliance framework, incl. ISSRs, EYFS, KCSIE.
• Promote a culture of compliance across the School and embed requirements in policies and practice.
• Coordinate policy framework and review cycle, ensuring policies are current and approved.
• Support governance and Board oversight with regular reports on compliance and developments.
• Maintain ongoing inspection and accreditation readiness, coordinating ISI inspections and external reviews.
• Coordinate internal compliance reviews and audits to identify risks and implement actions.
• Work with HR and safeguarding to oversee safer recruitment and safeguarding compliance, including SCR audits.
• Support compliance across data protection, health and safety, risk management and statutory reporting.
• Coordinate staff training and guidance to raise awareness of responsibilities.
