Job description

IRO Team Manager - Children’s Services | Offshore | £56.50/h + travel expenses (outside IR35) | key worker accommodation available

We are looking for an Independent Reviewing Officer Team Manager to join a children’s services team on the Channel Islands. If you are unfamiliar with the Channel Islands, they are considered the gem of the British Isles, offering excellent weather and benefits of being outside IR35.

As an IRO Team Manager, you will lead, manage, and deliver an Independent Safeguarding Service to children and their families who are required by legislation to comply with intervention, assessment, and support, ensuring effective service provision and statutory compliance.

You will achieve this by managing the development, implementation, and maintenance of specific plans, policies, and procedures within the areas of Safeguarding, Standards, and Quality, ensuring they align with departmental business plans, budgets, strategic plans, policies, and legislative requirements to improve outcomes for children.

Due to the management responsibilities in this role, you will be expected to be on the island from Monday to Friday. The council will assist by providing key worker accommodation during your stay. The role falls outside IR35 due to the island’s tax legislation.

As this is a statutory role, you require a social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
