Independent Reviewing Officer, Tameside
Pay rate £40 per hour
Vitalis is recruiting an Independent Reviewing Officer to work in a team in Tameside.
An IRO/Conference chair is required in Tameside. Must have CP chair experience to hit the ground running.
This role primarily involves chairing Child Protection Initial and Review conferences. Must be local to Tameside & be office based.
This is a full-time, agency, statutory role of 36 hours per week, based in the office. The conference chair provides independent oversight when a child or young person is deemed at risk of significant harm. They are accountable to the Director of Children’s Services and are practitioners, independent of operational and/or line management responsibilities for the case. They chair Initial and Review child protection conferences in line with statutory timescales as outlined in Working Together to Safeguard Children.
The conference chairs complete midpoint reviews to ensure compliance with the child protection plan, conduct Practice Review Processes to challenge drift and delay, provide views for legal gateways, and attend professional meetings where appropriate. They also chair CIN meetings and undertake home visits to children.
