Role: Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Officer

As a member of the Safeguarding and Quality Assurance team, you may hold a diverse caseload that will include mainly children looked after and some child protection cases.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Undertaking the review and evaluation of cases, primarily involving children looked after and child protection scenarios.
2. Managing a diverse caseload efficiently and effectively.
3. Participating in auditing activities to ensure adherence to quality standards.
4. Contributing insights to enhance safeguarding and quality assurance processes.
5. Ensuring the active participation of children, young people, and their parents during meetings.
6. Writing reports to communicate findings, recommendations, and decisions.
7. Making effective decisions for Children Looked After and Children with a Child Protection Plan.
8. Monitoring and assessing decisions in line with Working Together and relevant regulations.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Independent Reviewing Officer or similar safeguarding role.
• Strong chairing skills and the ability to manage challenging meetings.
• Knowledge of London Child Protection Procedures, The Care Planning, Placement and Case Review Regulations, 2010, and the IRO handbook.
• Understanding of child protection and safeguarding regulations.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality services and providing constructive challenge.
• Ability to work well in a team.
