Job summary

Curaleaf Clinic is expanding its clinical team in the UK. We are seeking an Independent Prescribing Pharmacist who will deliver a patient-focused service, manage a defined caseload, and contribute to MDT meetings.

You will work in Sunderland on a hybrid pattern (2–3 days on site) or remotely within the UK, bringing CBMP knowledge and strong clinical skills. You will be registered with the GPhC with independent prescribing, and you will have a keen interest in cannabis-based medicinal products.

Qualifications

• GPhC registered pharmacist with independent prescribing qualification.
• Demonstrates strong clinical knowledge and patient care skills.
• Regular use of prescribing qualifications in practice.
• Interest in Cannabis-Based Medicines for Medicinal Use (CBMPs).

Responsibilities

• Deliver a patient-focused clinical service.
• Evaluate and prioritise workload effectively.
• Provide guidance to colleagues and support a defined caseload.
• Manage patient follow-ups and escalate issues as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and MDT meeting participation.
• Provide clear information to patients and carers about treatment.
• Offer clinical advice to healthcare professionals on CBMP management.

Job description

We're expanding our clinical team to support more patients. As an Independent Prescribing Pharmacist with Curaleaf Clinic, you'll play a key role in helping patients get the most from their treatment while delivering thoughtful, personalised care.

This role offers flexibility to suit how you want to work: full-time, based in Sunderland with site presence 2–3 days per week; and fully remote (UK).

About the Role

In this role, you will support patients throughout their Curaleaf journey, from their initial enquiry through to ongoing evaluation and management of their treatment. You will conduct video review appointments following Consultant initiation and ensure treatment plans are delivered safely and effectively, in line with clinical protocols and organisational policies.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Delivering an effective, patient-focused clinical service
• Evaluating, organising, and prioritising workload effectively
• Advising and supporting a defined caseload, while providing guidance to colleagues when required
• Managing patient follow-ups and resolving issues in a proactive, professional manner, using escalation processes where appropriate
• Maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient records
• Attending and contributing to Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings
• Providing patients and carers with clear, accessible written information regarding their treatment
• Offering clinical advice to healthcare professionals on the management of patients using cannabis-based medicinal treatments

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Be a GPhC Registered Pharmacist with an independent prescribing qualification
• Demonstrate strong clinical knowledge and patient care skills
• Demonstrate regular clinical use of prescribing qualifications
• Have a genuine interest in Cannabis-Based Products for Medicinal Use (CBMP’s)
• Be able to coordinate and deliver programmes of care
• Be adaptable and open to implementing improved ways of working
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging treatments and clinical developments

It would be beneficial if you have:

• Post-registration experience within a clinical setting
• Previous exposure to cannabis-based medicinal treatments
