About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to expand our large clinical team to help us reach underserved communities struggling with substance misuse in Rotherham.

If you are a first level Registered Nurse or a Registered Pharmacist who thrives working in a community setting, assessing and supporting people with their healthcare issues, this might be just the role for you.

We welcome applications from prescribers with a passion for working with our client group, including those with backgrounds in other specialities, as full training and induction would be provided. Most of our work is face-to-face with our clients and therefore we require the successful candidate to be on-site, however we are open to flexible working options. If you would like to discuss the role or arrange an informal visit, please contact [emailprotected].

WithYou is all about working with our clients to find the right path for them to get back to where they want to be, and you will play an important role in that journey.

You’ll work closely with the Operational & Clinical Leadership along with our Recovery Workers to ensure that the clinical and psychosocial needs of the individual are met and that prescribing is safe, effective and in accordance with best practice whilst meeting the individual needs of the client. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to the most vulnerable in our society.

Working within one of our services is always busy, sometimes challenging but always rewarding.

You will be eager to keep up to date with developments in the treatments that you are prescribing and help WithYou to develop, implement and evaluate the interventions we use with our clients. These include:

  • harm reduction
  • providing support and advice in relation to substance misuse clinics; where we assess and review prescribed treatment plans
  • vaccination and blood testing programmes

It's not just about those people who actively engage with our service though - you will also be reaching out to those in our communities to offer proactive support and education.

To be effective in this job you will:

  • be a Registered General Nurse, Registered Mental Nurse or a Registered Pharmacist (GPhC)
  • have successfully completed the supplementary/independent prescriber course and hold an appropriate entry on the NMC register or GPhC register
  • be able to demonstrate OST prescribing experience
  • be able to evidence your continuous professional development
  • have a successful track record of delivering nursing interventions in a community setting
  • be able to demonstrate your experience of healthcare assessments, care planning and key working
  • be able to evidence peer working or working within a multi-disciplinary team, and collaborating with external agencies
  • have knowledge of the issues affecting substance misusers, including the impact on their wider health
