Waythrough is looking for an Independent Prescriber in Sheffield to join a large team dedicated to addressing substance misuse issues. The role involves advanced clinical assessments, collaboration with practitioners, and a commitment to providing top-quality care within a supportive environment that prioritizes staff development.
Waythrough, formerly Humankind, launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down barriers that prevent people from accessing support to lead valued lives. We address poverty and disadvantage through mental health, substance misuse, housing, and related support services.
We operate nearly 200 services across England, supported by approximately 3,500 staff and volunteers, helping around 125,000 people annually.
As we integrate our systems and processes, some roles are still branded under 'Humankind'. Full system integration is expected next year.
Position: Full-time, Permanent

Are you a Nurse or Pharmacist with an Independent Prescriber qualification and a passion for evidence-based treatments in Substance Misuse?
We seek dedicated professionals to join our team in Sheffield to make a meaningful impact on individuals, families, and communities. The ideal candidate will have advanced clinical skills, strong pharmacology knowledge, and the capability to assess, diagnose, and manage patient care independently. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is essential to deliver excellent outcomes and uphold high standards of care.
We are part of one of the largest complex integrated treatment services in England, operating an MDT model. There are excellent opportunities to work within a supportive team, including mental health nurses providing targeted interventions, making a real difference.
We prioritize staff development, offering protected CPD time, individual and group supervision. Our clinical services are supported by an experienced multidisciplinary central department.
