The Cornerstone Practice is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the nursing team. You will run booked blood-taking clinics, perform venepuncture on adults, and maintain accurate records on SystmOne. The role is 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with patients including those who have difficult venous access.

You should have hands-on phlebotomy experience, be comfortable working independently with anxious patients, and be prepared for pre-employment checks.

Formación

• Recognised phlebotomy training with venepuncture competence.
• Proven hands-on venepuncture experience in adults.
• Experience with anxious or nervous patients.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsabilidades

• Undertake venepuncture for adult patients at booked appointments.
• Carry out routine blood tests and blood draws in difficult venous access cases.
• Confirm patient identity, obtain consent and ensure correct tests.
• Label, handle, store samples per requirements; match to test requests.
• Manage appointment-based clinics safely and efficiently.
• Support anxious patients with a calm, reassuring service.
• Recognise and respond to complications such as fainting or adverse reactions.
• Keep clinical areas clean; follow infection prevention and dispose of sharps and waste safely.
• Maintain accurate clinical records on SystmOne.
• Monitor and maintain phlebotomy equipment and clinical supplies.
• Report incidents, errors and concerns promptly.
• Work collaboratively with nursing, reception and admin teams; maintain confidentiality.
