Independent Living Support Worker - Vulnerable People Services

Independent Living Support Worker, Vulnerable People Services, Cumbria

Are you a passionate Independent Living Support Worker looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services is currently recruiting for an Independent Living Support Worker to work within the Vulnerable People Services based in Cumbria.

Pay Rates: GBP13.32 - GBP15.83 per hour.

Information on the Role: Successful candidates will be offered 37.5 hours a week.

What you will be doing:

  • Leading on co-producing bespoke support and move-on plans, involving key stakeholders (e.g., family/support providers), where appropriate.
  • Organising and carrying out regular reviews of support and risk plans, especially after incidents or significant changes in a customer's circumstances.
  • Engaging with customers to meet outcomes and develop life skills.
  • Assisting customers with daily support and tenancy-related matters.
  • Identifying and promoting opportunities for employment, education, and training, and supporting customers to access these opportunities.
  • Signposting customers to external support services, including food banks and community resources.
  • Supporting customers to be tenancy ready for successful move-on.
  • Helping customers achieve financial independence through budgeting and income maximization.
  • Monitoring and supporting healthcare needs, ensuring appropriate contact with healthcare professionals.
  • Empowering customers to manage their medication independently by following procedures.
  • Leading support initiatives, including group work.
  • Ensuring customer safety by following safeguarding procedures, recognizing risks, and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Recording accurate, clear, and strengths-based customer information on digital platforms.

Skills & Professional Characteristics needed:

  • Understanding barriers faced by vulnerable and diverse customer groups, including those with complex needs.
  • Experience in delivering structured support and risk management.
  • A caring, empathetic, flexible, resilient, and proactive attitude.
  • Experience in resolving incidents positively.
  • Confidence in making and acting on decisions.
  • Competent in administrative and IT skills for reports and communications.

Essential Requirements:

  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet customer and business needs.
  • Willingness to travel within the defined area as required.
  • Use of Lone Worker system when necessary.
  • Adherence to Riverside policies on safety, safeguarding, GDPR, and other operational procedures.
  • Alignment with Riverside's values, "Our Riverside Way".
  • Participation in team meetings, supervisions, and reflection sessions.
  • Commitment to ongoing training and professional development.
  • Willingness to undertake additional duties as assigned by your Line Manager.
