Job summary

Independent Lives is seeking a Personal Assistant to support a young woman with Cerebral Palsy in the UK. The role involves ad hoc hours for tasks including eating/drinking assistance, personal care and simple household duties. A strict routine is important and driving an adapted van would be a bonus.

Full training for hoist use will be provided and English language skills are required. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check if required.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK.
• DBS/Enhanced disclosure may be required.
• Ability to work ad hoc hours with sensitivity and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Provide eating and drinking assistance and other duties as required.
• Maintain privacy, confidentiality and high standards of health & safety.
• Be reliable with good timekeeping and able to follow instructions.
• Possibly drive adapted van if able; hoist use training provided.
