Independent Living Coordinator

South Manchester

Temporary with the potential for extension

£17.47 per hour Umbrella

Our client

A leading, Northwest Housing Association, are looking to recruit a temporary Independent Living Officer for an initial period of 5 weeks with the potential for extension. This would be considered on a part- and full-time basis, covering 2 schemes in South Manchester.

The role - Independent Living Coordinator

In this role, you will be responsible for;

  • Delivering a brilliant service to customers living in older people's independent living schemes.
  • Providing intensive on scheme housing management and support services to customers living in the buildings, ensuring provision of excellent services and active customer participation and involvement.
  • Ensuring that the building is compliant with health and safety and that all repairs and planned works are carried out to an appropriate standard.
  • Liaising with external professionals and family members around the support needs of people living within the scheme and signposting customers to relevant organisations.

The candidate

To be successful for the role of Independent Living Coordinator, we are looking for people who have.

  • Excellent communication skills
  • An understanding of professional boundaries and safeguarding
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment and able to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Resilience and compassion, as you will work with people with complex needs.
  • A flexible attitude towards your working hours (in the event of an emergency).

Due to the nature of the role, an Enhanced DBS is required for this role.
