Independent Domestic Violence Advocate

We have an exciting opportunity for an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) to join the DRIVE IDVA Team, working 37.5 hours a week. This role involves both face-to-face and virtual support in a hybrid model, including working from home and the office, with travel throughout London.

3rd Floor, 5-7 Singer Street, London, Greater London, EC2A 4AP

Employment Type

Full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, with flexible working possible depending on service needs.

Salary

Qualified: Total £30,850 per annum (FTE £28,050 + £2,800 London Weighting Allowance)

Unqualified: Total £28,810 per annum (FTE £26,010 + £2,800 London Weighting Allowance)

Role Responsibilities
  • Work with other professionals to ensure risk management and safeguarding duties are met
  • Develop partnerships with statutory, private, and voluntary agencies to address domestic abuse
  • Implement effective support strategies for victims, focusing on safety and harm reduction
  • Manage a caseload of high-risk survivors, providing medium to long-term support based on thorough risk assessments
  • Participate in regular case meetings and multi-agency responses such as MARAC
Requirements
  • Knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of domestic abuse victims
  • Understanding of domestic abuse impacts and legal safeguarding responsibilities
  • Experience in direct service delivery to vulnerable populations
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills
  • Strong crisis management skills and resilience in stressful situations
