Overview

Apricus Resourcing is looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and adaptable Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA). The role is partly remote with hybrid working from home and working across London boroughs. You will be onsite for 3 of the 5 days each week and remotely for the remaining 2 days. Core hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00–18:00, with occasional early starts (8:00) and evening shifts on a rota basis.

Responsibilities
  • The IDVA will work in a dynamic, fast-paced, crisis intervention, advocacy, and support service, ensuring the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process.
  • Specialising in working with women whose families are involved with Family Children Services and where risk to children is a factor.
  • Make proactive contact and provide high-quality advocacy and support based on a client-led needs and risk assessment for women aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service.
  • Part advocacy, part training/education and project work to improve the response to victim/survivors experiencing domestic abuse.
  • Embed within the local authority Family Children Services team, working with Social Care professionals to adopt a trauma-informed approach, recognise the dynamics of domestic abuse, and provide holistic support.
  • Act as the domestic abuse subject matter expert on site, upskill fellow professionals, and be a point of contact for clients experiencing domestic abuse and Family Children Services support requirements.
  • Contribute to prioritising and developing good DA work in social care and drive institutional change to improve the experience for women accessing Family Children Services for their children.
What to Expect

You will be embedded in the local authority Family Children Services team, collaborating with professionals to improve outcomes for survivors and to lead by example in domestic abuse practice within social care settings.

Salary

£19.41 per hour (competitive rate).
