Job description

4Recruitment Services are seeking an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) for our client based in Manchester.

The IDVA service provides professional advice, information, and support to survivors of intimate partner violence living in the community. The focus is on improving safety for survivors and their children through thorough risk assessment and management, often within a multi-agency risk management strategy or MARAC process.

The service is based within the Adults Safeguarding Team, ensuring safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children through referral and multi-agency collaboration.

Advisors will work in various ways, including face-to-face, via telephone, or other communication methods. They will carry a caseload and provide duty advice as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Initial contact with citizens, risk assessment, safety planning based on DASH RIC, safeguarding actions, and onward referrals/signposting.
  • Crisis intervention and safety planning, including housing, refuge options, legal remedies, and target hardening.
  • Advocacy, reporting options, and representation at MARAC as required.
  • Ensuring robust pathways are in place internally and externally, including collaboration with IDVA teams, statutory services, community outreach, SARC, ISVA, and other specialist services.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
  • Recent experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working with survivors of domestic abuse, supporting victims through MARAC, criminal justice, civil remedies, and reducing repeat victimisation and homelessness.
  • An IDVA qualification is preferable.
  • Completion of CAADA training or willingness to attend.
  • Enhanced DBS check.
What we offer:
  • 24-hour specialist support from a local consultant.
  • 4Recruitment Services Employee Benefits Programme.
  • Dedicated payroll support for full benefits.
