Independent Co-Chair of the of the Standards Committee

Dudley Council is seeking to appoint an Independent Co-Chair for the Council’s Standards Committee. The Committee promotes and maintains high standards of conduct within the Council.

Applicants should have a broad understanding of the risk, control and corporate governance issues facing local authorities.

Physical attendance of approximately 6 formal Committee meetings per year. Formal Committee meetings are normally held at 6pm. You will also be required to attend informal meetings and training to support you in undertaking this role

An annual payment of £5,213 will be paid, together with reimbursement for travelling and subsistence expenses.

Please note that due to the nature of the role, applications will not be accepted if you:

  • Are a member, co-opted member or officer of the authority or have been so within the last ten years
  • Are a relative or close friend of a person of any of the above
  • Are currently actively engaged in party politics
