Job summary

Midland Metro Limited invites applications for the role of Independent Chair of the Audit, Risk & Assurance Committee. The post is based in Wednesbury with hybrid working options, and remuneration at £500 per day.

The appointment is a part-time FTC of approximately 1.5 days per month for two years. You will provide high-quality independent leadership and scrutiny across governance, financial management and risk, reporting to the Board and working with internal and external auditors to strengthen

Qualifications

• Significant financial management experience and governance expertise.
• Ability to challenge senior stakeholders with independence and tact.
• Knowledge of local government and corporate governance arrangements.
• Experience overseeing ethics or conduct matters is valuable.
• Prior Audit Committee experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Chair and lead meetings of the Audit, Risk & Assurance Committee.
• Provide independent challenge on governance, risk management, financial controls and assurance.
• Ensure discussions are fair, transparent, and evidenced.
• Review financial reporting and control environments.
• Maintain relationships with internal and external auditors and assurance providers.
• Report significant matters to the Board and support committee development.
