Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking an experienced Adults Social Worker to join the Care and Support Team. You will assess, plan and manage care for adults 18+ with diverse needs, ensuring safeguarding and high-quality, person-centred support.

You will work in a supportive team, receive supervision and develop professionally within a values-led service that promotes independence and wellbeing for vulnerable adults.

Qualifications

• A recognised Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
• Current registration with Social Work England and ASYE completion.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and ability to identify and manage risk.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking comprehensive assessments of adults 18+ in line with Care Act 2014.
• Managing your own caseload with timely interventions.
• Developing and reviewing person-centred care and support plans.
• Identifying and managing safeguarding concerns to protect vulnerable adults.
• Collaborating with service users, families, carers and multidisciplinary professionals.
• Liaising with partner agencies including mental health, housing and NHS services.
• Maintaining accurate case records and reports per statutory duties.
• Participating in regular supervision and professional development.
