Job summary

The Orpheus Centre in Godstone, Surrey is seeking Learning Support Care Assistants (LSCAs) to support 18-25 year olds with learning difficulties in educational, social and residential settings.

You will work 35 hours per week across 44 weeks per year, earning £25,633.87 per annum, and provide personal care, promote independence and dignity, while collaborating with tutors, therapists and support teams.

Qualifications

• At least two years' experience supporting young people or adults with learning needs.
• Caring, patient and positive approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Level 2 or 3 in Learning Support or Health and Social Care desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support learners in educational, social and independent living activities.
• Provide personal care with dignity and respect.
• Encourage development of communication, employability and life skills.
• Support daily living tasks such as meals, budgeting and appointments.
• Assist with off-site activities, work placements and community visits.
• Act as a positive role model and keyworker.
• Maintain learner records and contribute to support plans.
• Assist with manual handling where necessary.
