Job Description
Working in a team of 13, the Income Recovery Officer will focus on the recovery of over payment of Housing Benefits from individuals. The role demands an empathetic and holistic approach to debt recovery, considering the vulnerability of the Housing Benefit client base. Your duties will include:
The Successful Applicant
The successful Income Recovery Officer will have a good knowledge of debt legislation concerning the collection of Housing Benefit over payments and a track record of success in this area. Ideally you will have previous exposure to using either Northgate Housing Benefit system or SAP and previously worked as a Housing Benefit Officer/Over Payment Officer/Income Recovery Officer. Alongside your understanding of Housing Benefit legislation, strong communication skills (verbal and written) and attention to detail are essential.
What's on Offer
A salary of £38,934 - £40,775 plus an excellent benefits package include hybrid working, 31 days holiday (plus Bank Holidays), Local Authority Pension, 36 hour working week.
