Summary
Historic England are excited to be seeking an Income Development Assistant Apprentice . This is rare exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to achieve a Level 3 Apprenticeship, working in the dynamic and forward thinking Philanthropy and Development team.
You will play a key part in providing administrative support and assistance to the Philanthropy and Development Team, helping to maximise organisational income opportunities, raising funds, delivering positive impact for heritage and the individuals and communities it inspires.
The Income Development Assistant Apprenticeship is offered as an 18 month Fixed Term Contract.
What you will be doing
You will be working towards completion of your Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship over the course of 18 months. 80% of your time will be spent in the workplace, and 20% of your time will be spent off the job, completing a training programme specially designed for your apprenticeship with a recognised training provider.
This role will offer hybrid working and remote learning and with the requirement to be in one of our offices 2 / 3 days a week. The role may also require occasional travel and planned overnight stays to work with other team members, or to visit other Historic England offices. (All travel and subsistence costs for training purposes will be paid for by Historic England).
The main duties and areas of responsibility are listed below:
Administrative support for the EAS working group team such as scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and minute taking.
Contributing to monitoring and evaluation of all income generating activities.
Supporting comparator analysis and benchmarking activities.
Assist all members of the Philanthropy and Development Team to research and track activity.
Produce research profiles and briefings for the Philanthropy and Development team and other associates at Historic England.
Maintain an effective database, recording data in accordance with departmental protocols and in compliance with GDPR and internal policies.
Support the Philanthropy and Development Team in the production of reports and the delivery of benefits.
You will also be involved in fundraising and engagement events as required and assist with the production of invitations and follow-up letters, as required.

What will you learn
The Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship will equip you with the foundational knowledge and skills needed for administrative and support roles. Your learning will focus on:
Developing your practical skills to communicate with different stakeholders.
Developing your organizational skill.
Build on your IT proficiency.
Support your understanding of the core business functions and processes within Historic England.
What we are looking for
You will demonstrate an interest in income generation, particularly in the cultural, museum or heritage sectors
You will show an interest in research and the value of data, and will willing to learn.
You will have experience in using common IT packages such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
You can demonstrate financial aptitude with a good level of attention to detail
You are an effective communicator, confident to liaise with colleagues at all levels
