East Sussex College Group is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the Inclusive Learning team at Hastings Campus. You will support students with SEND, work with tutors to adapt materials, and help create an inclusive learning environment to enable every student to thrive.

Hours are part-time (17.5 hours/week) during term time, with an annual salary around £25,300 FTE prorated to actual weeks. The role requires Level 2 English & Maths and a SEND-related qualification, with opportunities

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with SEND.
• Knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and inclusive learning practices.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents/carers, and external agencies.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience implementing strategies to support student engagement, behaviour and achievement.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Patient, positive and proactive approach to helping students succeed.

Responsabilités

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to SEND students in various learning environments.
• Assist during lessons, practical activities and social times to enhance engagement.
• Support implementation of EHCP/SEN plans.
• Adapt learning materials and resources to individual needs.
• Encourage confidence, resilience and independent learning.
• Collaborate with curriculum and Inclusive Learning teams to ensure appropriate support.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Represent the College at internal and external events when required.
