Job summary

The Portsmouth Academy is seeking a capable Teaching Assistant to join The Bridge Inclusion Centre, supporting students aged 11–16 with complex Cognition and Learning needs. You will work one-to-one and in small groups to enable access to learning for each pupil.

Hours are 8:00–3:30 or 8:30–4:00, Monday to Friday, with a focus on building positive relationships with students and their families. A reflective, motivated approach is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young people to support physical and mental wellbeing
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Education to Grade 4/C or above in English and Mathematics

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist students one-to-one and in small groups across a range of activities
• Support access to learning and manage supportive learning environments
• Build positive relationships with students and their parents/carers
• Contribute to a safe and inclusive classroom and school culture
