Job summary

Peterborough College is seeking an experienced ALS Team Leader to lead our Additional Learning Support to ensure learners with additional learning needs receive high-quality, effective support.

Working with curriculum and SEND colleagues, you will develop staff, coordinate support across curriculum areas, oversee ISPs and risk assessments, and promote inclusive teaching and learning. This is a chance to make a real difference in students’ lives.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with a range of additional learning needs and disabilities.
• Experience leading, supervising, or coordinating staff teams.
• Strong knowledge of inclusive practice, SEND legislation, and learner support strategies.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing a team of Additional Learning Support staff to deliver outstanding learner support.
• Coordinating support provision across curriculum areas, ensuring resources are deployed effectively to meet student needs.
• Managing recruitment, induction, performance, attendance, and staff development.
• Working with curriculum teams to promote inclusive teaching and learning practices.
• Overseeing Individual Support Plans (ISPs), risk assessments, and support arrangements.
• Monitoring the quality and impact of support through observations, reviews, and learner progress tracking.
• Supporting funding compliance, record keeping, and quality assurance processes.
• Championing SEND best practice and promoting a culture of inclusion across the college.
