Job summary

South Gloucestershire Council is hiring a Specialist Advisory Teacher to work with early years, schools and post-16 providers, improving inclusion and outcomes for children and young people. The role focuses on consultation, coaching, modelling and collaborative problem-solving within a multidisciplinary locality team.

You will lead on building workforce confidence, developing universal and enhanced provision, and supporting sustainable improvements through evidence-informed practice.

Qualifications

  • Essential QTS with degree-level qualification.
  • Strong consultation, coaching and facilitation skills.
  • Experience supporting children and young people with SEND.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultation, coaching, collaborative problem-solving and specialist advice to settings to strengthen inclusive cultures.
  • Build confidence and capability of teachers, SENDCOs, teaching assistants and leaders through mentoring and professional learning.
  • Model inclusive practice and support schools to develop evidence-informed approaches for participation and achievement.
