Job summary

Colchester Institute Enterprises Limited is seeking a part-time Welfare and Safeguarding Officer - Inclusion Support to provide first-response welfare and safeguarding support to enrolled students. You will work with curriculum teams, social workers, and external agencies to promote wellbeing, safety and inclusion, and to remove barriers to learning.

Role requires delivery of safeguarding guidance, response to referrals, and attendance at professional meetings.

Qualifications

• Experience of welfare issues including homelessness, emotional/behavioural issues and mental health concerns
• Experience in safeguarding case management following policies and procedures
• Recent experience supporting vulnerable 16–19 year olds in a similar role

Responsibilities

• Deliver a first response welfare and safeguarding support to enrolled students, coordinating with internal teams, the social care services and external agencies
• Promote and advise on safeguarding and child protection best practices
• Act as first responder to referrals regarding learner welfare issues including homelessness, bullying and anxiety
• Arrange, co-ordinate and chair welfare/safeguarding meetings and Team Around the Family meetings
• Contribute to professional meetings and reviews concerning enrolled students and safeguarding planning
• Maintain accurate records of learner interventions on college systems including Intuition

Education

Level 2 English and Maths GCSEs or equivalent

Education to Level 3 or above or professional qualification
