Job description

SENCO and Inclusion Manager with QTS / qualified Teacher status, significant teaching and/or Assistant Principal experience, National Award for SEN coordination, and experience of managing and developing teams is required for Avanti House Primary School, part of Avanti Schools Trust, based in Stanmore, North West London.

This role is known internally as a SENCO and Inclusion Lead

SALARY: £53,731 – £56,247 per annum pro rata (L1 – L3) + Benefits

LOCATION: Stanmore, North West London(HA7)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time or Part-Time, Permanent (all year round)

WORKING HOURS: 32.5 hours per week (full-time) OR 19.5 hours per week (part-time)

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an inspiring SENCO and Inclusion Managerwith QTS / qualified Teacher status, significant teaching and/or Assistant Principal experience, National Award for SEN coordination, and experience of managing and developing teams.

Working as a member of the senior leadership team, the SENCO and Inclusion Manager will drive the development of SEN policy, oversee provision for a diverse range of learners, and lead a team of teachers and support-staff dedicated to making a real difference.

As the SENCO and Inclusion Manager you will work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external agencies to advocate for inclusion and cultivate a supportive learning environment while also playing a vital role in whole-school improvement.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the school’s vision for inclusive education, ensuring that every child, regardless of their needs, receives the highest quality support to thrive.

DUTIES

Your duties as SENCO and Inclusion Managerwill include:

  • Contribute to the wider school improvement agenda and school self-evaluation, particularly but not exclusively, with respect to provision for pupils with SEN or a disability
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and coordination of specific provisions to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability
  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies to support pupils with SEN or disabilities and ensure a holistic approach to well-being
  • Manage and support teachers and TAs working with SEND and disadvantaged pupils, providing guidance and professional development

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • QTS qualified
  • National Award for SEN Coordination
  • Current experience in a similar role
  • Significant teaching experience
  • Sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
  • Experience in effectively managing and developing teams at a strategic level
  • Commitment to getting the best outcomes for pupils and promoting the ethos and values of the school
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students
